I don’t particularly like the word “killers” when it comes to fishing and flies but it just has that effect that “catchers” doesn’t quite have.  Anyway, here are a few ties that combine some modern materials with some more traditional patterns and colour combinations.

Blue and silver with a splash of teal always works for seatrout.  This double uses some more modern materials though.

Here’s a smaller pattern using the same colours.  This fly has plenty flash for fresh fish.

Teal and Blue

Another great colour combination is claret or fiery brown and mallard.  Again the pattern below makes use of some modern materials.
