July has been an interesting month here at gamefishingireland. The weather was more broken than June which was beneficial in some ways as some salmon finally arrived.

The rain persisted with a lot of flooding forcing us to target the smaller streams for trout on fly. Streamers in heavily coloured water and nymphs as it cleared was our approach. You never know what will happen, as we had some grilse take the nymphs, with Krys landing one on the Mackenzie NX1 3wt.

When we had dryer calmer conditions we still had good saltwater fly fishing for bass and mullet.

Hopefully the Angling God’s will smile on us for August. It can be a good month for bass. Preparations are already underway for some top water action π€.

Tight lines for the coming months. π π£
